Sustainability
Tree crops are a multi-decade commitment to a piece of land. We intend to develop the estate in a way that keeps it productive, and its surroundings healthy, for the long term.
Land and soil
Soil testing is complete for the current estate, and land preparation is under way. We use soil, drainage and topography information to guide block planning, and retain space for roads, drainage, storage, water and other shared infrastructure.
The 70-hectare estate includes 68 hectares allocated to crop blocks and 2 hectares reserved for shared infrastructure.
Community
An estate in Biase LGA is part of a community. We engage respectfully with neighbouring communities, prioritise local employment where skills and opportunities allow, and keep records of commitments made in the course of farm development.
Environment
We intend to follow agronomist recommendations on input use, protect water sources, and comply with applicable environmental requirements. No environmental certification or permit is claimed on this website until it has been obtained and verified.
Environmental assessment status: Pending.
Governance
Sustainability includes financial sustainability. Qimo Farms intends to keep proper accounts, maintain reserves, and report to stakeholders in a way that can be checked.
